Colleagues
For obvious reasons, Tubs will be co-ordinating the game between
Renaissance and 5 Wood, taking place at the Zwartkop Country Club on 20
November 2011.
It seems like my approach to my 1st assignment as a "State Secretary for
International Affairs" for Renaissance has already created diplomatic
discomforts. I will stick to my role as "State Secretary for Domestic
Affairs".
Kind Regards.

I am the convener of the Renaissance Internal Club Competitions. I run

I have a mandate from Tubs to arrange a game on that date. If you are
not happy with the date and venue, it is still fine. It was suggested
that we give 5 Wood preference for the day.
I agree that Tubs should perhaps respond

I'm not sure what is happening here, are you the spokesperson for
Renaissance? There was a period when there was confusion regarding the
Renaissance contact person, and it was clarified in no uncertain terms
by them that the focal person will be Tubatsana.
To be fair to Hendrick, Tubatsana should respond.

I have booked 10 4balls at Zwartkop on 20th November 2011.
We are happy to make this a 5 Wood Renaissance Challenge game if they
are keen.
Should they not be interested, we will invite another social golf group
for the day. At least this suits our annual calendar.
Please let me know. This time of the year, it is difficult to secure
slots at golf courses around GP.
Thank you.

Hi Colleagues,
There is a suggestion on the table to play the 20 November 2011 game in
honour of Robby Moabi. We can name the Cup and the Chalkenge in his name or
we can introduce another smaller cup in his honor to be given to the
highest scoring two ball of the day. What go you guys think?

Subject: The Repeat of Kenny's birthday Golf Invitational is back in
full force
Dear all
As discussed last year in the most spectacular golf day ever I am back
with a big bang. As discussed(please see below mail), I would like to
organise another golf day on the 16 December 2011 to raise funds for the
"EMPOWER A BLACK CHILD FUND". Our target is to raise at least R20000.00
and sponsor one child not the top performer because top performers will
qualify for bursary somewhere else. Some of us did not have the best
matric results but through a lot of struggling we manage to get to
Varsity and struggled our way through and it is therefore these kind of
students we are targeting. This is how I propose we fund this project:
1. I have agreed with Pat Louw of blue Valley and he has promised
me that he will host us at R160 per player as green fees for the day.
This rate is a huge discount considering that the 16th is a public
holiday.
2. I therefore request that every player pays R500 which will
cover half way and snacks after the game.
3. I therefore assume that should we have 5 x 4 balls then
assuming the surplus would be R260 per player then we will raise about
R5200 towards this good initiative.
4. So then how do we get to R20000.00 nett funds? here is my
proposal;
* To all those who really believe that God has blessed them and
it is time they plough back to the black community in a meaningful way,
can make special donations above the minimum R500 required
* Guys who are running companies can make Company donations and
claim it as CSI program
* I have also spoken to individual successful business and
Professional black people and tsome of them have pledged some donations
even though they do not play golf.
* I am hoping that God will touch some of you to assist us to
get to R20000.00
* Maybe we can double the 4 balls to increase funds please speak
to your friends and social clubs to participate.
I am also pleading with all of you to please sponsor some prizes for the
day individually or through your companies . Last year my wife and I
sponsored all the prices and the whole event , this year I am asking you
to contribute anything from the goodness of your heart for this good
course.
We have not yet identified the student which the fund must sponsor so I
am pretty much open minded to every suggestion from anywhere in the
country. If we can raise R50000.00 we should be able to sponsor at least
3 students.
I also need 2 or 3 of you to volunteer to help me set up the formal
structure , constitution , guiding principles etc
Gentlemen and ladies please let us do our part to help empower a black
child through the sport we love and enjoy very much.
Please send me your confirmation for participation and or to donate or
any suggestion as soon as you can. Please if it is not necessary do not
copy everyone just send your comments to me and I will consolidate all
the responses.
Regards

Subject: Kenny's birthday Golf Invitational Thank you note
Dear all
Thank you for making the event successful . I am sure everybody enjoyed
the event. I was very pleased with the turn out and the high level of
skill displayed on the day.
A very special congratulations to Mr Jeff "what a player" Moloto for
winning the tournament uncontested. Well done Jeff. His prize was R800
cash and a colour printer sponsored by the Kenny Mokoka Foundation.
On a serious note I want to elaborate on the sponsorship (Bursary Fund)
initiative I mentioned on Saturday. I believe we all are passionate with
golf and love the company of golfers. My rationale was in the midst of
enjoying the game and the socialising , why can't we pull our resources
together and make a difference to an academically promising and
performing unprivileged black child. There are a lot of black students
in the villages with matric A symbols who could not make to varsity this
year due to lack of funding. I know and am convinced that individually
we are doing something to assist, some of us are paying for other kid's
school fees etc, but my view is why can't we consolidate our efforts and
make it formal and big?
As individuals we will achieve little but as a group we can establish
something big that we can pass to the next generation and still be proud
of it. Below are my conceptual views on the way forward on the
initiative for your comments I propose the following;
* We name the Bursary scheme as follows " Empower a Black Child
Golf Fund " shortened for EBCG Fund
* We appoint 4 of us to be trustees who will further develop the
concept do the running or implementation of this initiative. People who
have been involved in such things to volunteer their skills.
* Hold the golf days twice a year and use the event to raise the
required funds.
Please let me have your views.
Regards
Kenny
